Our mission is to promote the preservation and protection of historic structures and sites through advocacy, education, involvement, and public and private investment.

Historic Tyler, Inc. is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. Since its founding in 1977, Historic Tyler has promoted the preservation and appreciation of the architectural and cultural resources in Tyler, TX. Our organization is dedicated to the preservation, revitalization, and continued use of the Rose City’s historic resources. Membership in Historic Tyler ensures that our organization can advocate for historic preservation measures in Tyler’s future economic and cultural development. Since 1981, our single largest fundraiser has been the annual Historic Tyler on Tour (HTOT). During HTOT, the public can purchase tickets to tour five different historic homes that have been lovingly preserved by generations of owners. This event helps fund other preservation projects throughout the year and allows us to share with the public the benefits of historic preservation.
