RAIL TRAVEL
Tyler, TX currently does not have a station for passenger rail service. However, Amtrack's Texas Eagle, which connects San Antonio and Chicago, passes through two nearby East Texas cities twice daily - both stations are within driving distance of Tyler.
The southbound route (Train #21) to San Antonio usually arrives between 9:00 and 11:00 AM. The northbound route (Train #22) to Chicago usually arrives between 5:00 and 7:00 PM. Amtrack's schedule is subject to change at any time without notice.

MINEOLA STATION (MIN) 115 East Front Street, Mineola, TX 75773 The station is only open when the Texas Eagle is scheduled to arrive, providing passengers with restroom and phone access. Tickets cannot be purchased at this station. Driving distance to Tyler is approximately 25 miles. |

LONGVIEW STATION (LVW) 905 Pacific Avenue, Longview, TX 75602 The station is open during a set daily schedule and closes when the last train departs in the evening. Restroom, phone, and vending machine access is only available when the station is open. Tickets can be purchased at this station. Approximate driving distance to Tyler is 35 miles. |

ARE YOU A TRAIN BUFF?
While in Tyler, you may want to visit our Historic Cotton Belt Depot, which was built in 1905 providing commercial and passenger service. Located near Tyler's switching yard, a portion of the depot now serves as a museum of the relics used during Tyler's big train days.
